As a parent and former Torrance School Board President, Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi strongly believes our local schools deserve their fair share of funding from Sacramento. That’s why he introduced Assembly Bill 2808, to deliver increased funding to reduce class sizes, update classroom technology, strengthen student achievement, and improve the overall quality of our schools.

The details: Here’s how Assembly Bill 2808 will bring South Bay schools their fair share of funding:
Assembly Bill 2808 proposes state funding targets to increase the base grant portion of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). These funding targets are designed to increase California’s per pupil spending from 43rd in the nation to at least the national average. AB 2808 is making a statement that California’s K-12 funding should be the state’s top budget priority, and that the state should provide full and fair funding to all California children, regardless of where they live.
